Not having seen the letter in question, I don’t know what he was suggesting. However, it would probably be possible to identify the specific brand of plastic bag, and it might be that the specific brand is regional, sold in New South Wales, but not sold in Queensland.

Fantastic Voyage.

How the hell did Racquel Welch get _those_ into a wetsuit that tight?

Are you suggesting that she didn’t? I mean, assuming that she didn’t have surgery before every take, it’s clearly physically possible.

As a hint to how, I’ll point out that breasts are flexible.

> I was watching Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children last night. It’s a story with a _lot_ of problems but one inconsistency that exceeded my threshold of disbelief. The kids are walking through the garden and one says “It’s always the same day here, September 14, 1943.” And I’m thinking “Huh. Rhododendrons bloom in September in Wales, do they?”

Yes they do. Or at least, they can. One house I owned had previously been owned by someone with exotic gardening tastes (At least as exotic as northern Ohio will allow). Among the many other plants were rhododendrons. Upon studying them to identify the variety I learned they can be grouped by the dates they bloom. Different varieties can bloom from early spring into the fall.

So here’s something to consider: does a movie mess with your suspension of disbelief when the actors are objectively not as the movie portrays them? The old trope where a character is regarded within the movie as unattractive, despite being obviously movie star material. Also includes things like thirty year old teenagers and such.

Prompted by a review of a recent movie where the leads play impoverished diner waitresses, despite being (in real life) successful models. One commenter noted that he couldn’t accept them in the roles, because they were so beautiful- literally beautiful enough to make a good living on their looks.
