I want to buy a CD of thunderstorms/rain. I got one a long time ago and was highly disappointed because a lot of it had instruments in it or was computer generated. I want actual recordings of rain falling and thunder and stuff. Preferably long clips of the same thing, rather than something that cuts around to different types of sound frequently. I want to be able to fall asleep to this.

Before I waste money on something that might not be right, does anyone have one they can recommend?

Gentle Persuasion’s

Sounds of Thunder by the Sea

is as much roiling waves as thunder, but it’s the CD is used to use to fall asleep at night.

Thanks, but I don’t really want ocean sounds (not that I don’t like them, but I’m hoping I can trick myself into thinking it’s really raining outside… and since I live nowhere near the water, that might kind of ruin the illusion :D)

[Here](http://www.arbourshop.com/product.php/6435/400570) ya go. Environmental sound recordist Dan Gibson has a whole line of nature recordings. This link takes you to one of thunderstorms. There are audio clips on the page, too.

Thanks! I’m checking it out now. (Man, the sound clips are confusing the hell out of my cat, who first went to the window to look outside, and now is looking at my laptop with bewilderment)
