Recently my wife acquired a tick in Guilford CT (we live in NJ). I would not have bothered calling the doctor, but my wife calls about everything. The doctor told her that if it had been in NJ, he would have “watched and waited” (apparently there are relatively few cases of Lyme in NJ), but since it was Ct (and not far from Lyme Ct), he prescribed some heavy duty, one day dose of antibiotic. Personally, I think that was overkill, but my wife disagrees.

I will say that my brother in law (who lives in Guilford) has contracted Lyme twice, so there’s that.
