Hell yeah!!! It’s my birthday and I’ll be sick as hell on New Year’s Eve and not be able to go out if I want to!!! Or even if I don’t!! Oh well, next NYE I’ll be in college and I’ll do 2 years’ worth of partying at once. So there! Besides, I’m getting Aimee Mann tickets for my b-day, which will rock far more than anything I was going to be able to plan for tonight, when most everyone I know is out of town. LC ---

I’ll enter the last year of my 40s on the 23rd. When I was a kid. 49 seemed so old, but as I approach it, I don’t feel much different from the kid I was… well, except for the aches when I get out of bed and the multiple meds I take every night and the assorted surgical scars on my belly and the laugh lines around my eyes and the sad evidence of gravity when I look in the mirror.
