Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has been fired.
Will be replaced by Pompeo.

So, Pompeo’s deputy is nominated to run the CIA, which probably leaves the Tea Partier in effective control of both our foreign intel and our foreign policy. What could go wrong? I guess it’ll be easier with one guy in charge of our “diplomats” and our diplomats.

I should think the staff shuffling is actually a kinda brilliant defense against prosecution. “I really don’t know.” Will be 100% believable in _every_ legal context and instance.
On the other hand, this comes on the heals of skipping some events on his recent trip to Africa as he was ill. Could he be seriously ill perhaps?
Or, maybe he didn’t like the travelling to Africa part? The food? All the brown people? Leaving his wife behind? (Maybe she went with?)

[He’s already been interviewed by Putin’s reps](https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/30/politics/cia-director-pompeo-russia-spies/index.html), and apparently must’ve gotten the thumbs-up.
Now we just need to find out if the GOP will affirm Putin’s choice.
ETA: And the torturer nominated as Pompeo’s replacement at CIA.
