The White House also axed some guy named [Steve Goldstein](https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/13/white-house-fires-top-tillerson-aide-who-contradicted-account-of-secretary-of-states-dismissal.html) at the State Department, who was Tillerson’s aide and issued that statement this morning that Tillerson wanted to keep serving, hadn’t talked to Trump and didn’t know why he was being fired. ---

Rex Tillerson— a plutocratic oil magnate with deep ties to Russia, profoundly unqualified to be Secretary of State, who caused severe and possibly irrecoverable damage to the State Department and the international standing of the United States— and yet I’m _kind of sorry to see him go_. Need to sit in a quiet place and think on that for a while. ---
