You want 45 more ‘useful’ minutes of daylight in the summer? Get up earlier and go outside or go to work an hour earlier and clock out an hour earlier.

I know of at least one institution that takes this approach: Camp Ramah in the Berkshires, a Jewish summer camp in upstate New York, uses Standard Time (a.k.a. “camp time”) instead of Daylight Saving Time while camp is in session. Their justification: the Jewish sabbath and holidays begin and end at sundown, and it’s easiest to coordinate this with young campers’s sleep schedules by just ignoring the time change.

And Americans do not agree with that. The % of course varies by how you read the polls. But in no way shape or form did the polls say Americans generally agree it has to go.
