Time for Another Interent Scavenger Hunt

Find a future (possible vaporware) website for web scavenger hunts that has a vulture and a magnifying glass as a logo.

Here’s a three dollar bill. You have to scroll to midway down the page.

Also I’ve been meaning to contradict the answer that we did get. The 1964 Alaskan earthquake was given a magnitude of 8.5, which was later revised to 9.2. here

This .gov site calls it the “second largest ever recorded (largest occurred in Chile in 1960).”
So I’ll add 2 more items to the mix.

Find me an on-line game of “Hunt the Wumpus.”

And this one I don’t even expect Cecil himself to be able to get, but it’s out there for the finding. But who knows, maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised. Maryland had a Constitutional Convention in 1850. On Tuesday, Noc 5th, 1850, on the motion of Mr. Sprigg, of Prince George Co., the convention was called to order. At what hour did this occur.

And Shylock and GIGO, ooh new hunts, can’t wait to tackle them.

Now I’ll add one for our collectors. Bring me a site which tours us through an infamous addition of Southern culture to U.S. architecture. You should know it when you see it.

Osiris, the funny thing is that I found a site that has both a “Slim Jim” and a “Felix Fox” in plush animal form! I thought, “Boy did he send us on a wild goose chase!”

Check out:

http://www.bearst.com/slimjim.html
http://www.kosen.com/felix.html

(These are at different URL’s but are on the same internal database.)

Of course I was going to check Ebay next, but someone unfortunately beat me to it. :o

Hunt the Wumpus

Here it is Osiris:

I hope wumpus doesn’t get mad

[sub]Does this means I get to be as good as Cecil?[/sub]

Damn you guys are fast! And good.

And sorry GIGO, I think what it really means is I’m not nearly as sneaky as I thought I was.

Does this guy have glasses on? I can’t tell

As a bonus here’s Laura Bush doing it in a half-assed kinda way http://www.endex.com/gf/buildings/ltpisa/ltpnews/2001/ltpap072001.htm

chuckles at MisterThyristor and crosses fingers I would never do anything as silly as that. Cute Fox though.

Lurches in limping
Good one GIGO http://www.net-scavenger.com/
So HAHA! That’s 1 for me :), and 4 for you :frowning:

Let me think a bit.

Find me a short movie about this guy who saves his girlfriend from being sucked into a jet engine after their friends acidentally turn off the gravity. The title is a pun on The Sky is Falling.
And we still need ShibbOleth’s architecture link

Great job Osiris!

Now everybody find me the Osiris Egypt board (kinda like an anti SDMB) the pyramids and the Ark of the Covenant are top topics now. . . (Hint: Osiris is with other god in the title)

I will check tomorrow, good night.
BTW the short movie is “This Guy Is Falling”

Mornin’ guys… Osiris-Ra Bulletin Board.

[sub]Didn’t need the hint, this is getting to easy. Save those for after folks struggle a while.[/sub]

Still waiting for this…

I had the theory for awile that this was the thing:

http://www.stonemountainpark.com/general/history.html

But I am not sure, were you talking about the flag?

And I’ll add one…find a game where you have to get anchovies to eat hamburgers.

You’re barking up the wrong tree… if no one goes in the right direction by tonight I’ll toss you a hint. You may have to think outside of the box.

The problem is that there is many ways some structure can turn infamous by its southern history:

http://www.ugrrf.org/page5.html

In this case it is not the railroad but the first tour: the slave auction block.

ShibbOleth is this it?
http://webusers.anet-stl.com/~civil/stlouistour.html

Okay, I meant to be obtuse, but from the guesses so far I guess I was a bit too much so. What I am looking for is an architectural feature that you will find throughout the South. It is also found in other parts of the country, but it is mostly satirized as part of Southern culture.

[sub]In my response to GIGO (or maybe it was Osiris?) there is a three letter hint.[/sub]
