I did not deheathenate but OYKW did. I haz a sinus infection. ICK! I went back to bed with Ben this mornin’ and slept in til around noonish. We et N.O.L. and then OYKW went to his place to take care of laundry and such. I’m still awake but am considerin’ goin’ back to bed for a while. Dependin’ on how I feel, tomorrow may be a sick day or an irk from home day. Mayhaps I should consult my doc tomorrow to see if’n I need anything pharmaceutical. IOW Spring is in the air. ---

Winter Classic is the New Year’s Day game, Heritage Classic is always two Canadian teams, & Stadium Series is everyone else. What’s even cooler, & what I got to attend a few years ago is the Alumni game the day before. I’ve seen future Hall of Famer’s play their respective sport but it was the only time I’ve seen _current_ HoF’ers play their sport & doubly fun because some of them were childhood heros. Rumor is Flyers @ Pens @ Heinz Field in 2017 & then reverse it two years later. They tried to get it in Beaver Stadium but PSU wanted too much money. I decorated two cakes at work then came home, cleaned up and went to church. Now I’ve eaten lunch and will take Nathan to the park, so Atilla can have time to himself at home. Then I will nap. I’m so tired now, but the dog deserves his outdoor time. ---

The house has an interesting meld of scents - sketty sauce and nanner bread! But not to worry - it’s nice enough out that I opened a few windows for a little while. The sketty sauce is done - I’m letting it cool before I bag it for the freezer - I’m hoping there’s 3 meals to be had. As for the nanner bread, there are 2 loaves plus a bundt cake, since I didn’t have 4 loaf pans. I’ll freeze the loaves and we’ll nosh on the bundt. \*\*FCD \*\*wants Perkins style N.O.T. pancakes, but I don’t feel like messing with that right now. So he’ll have to wait. Oh, and the sheets are off the lines, folded, and back in the linen closet. So very productive am I!! 😃 ---

Taxes are kind of, sort of done. I’m not sure I got all the grant/tuition stuff right but my brain hurts so I will go over it again tomorrow. Having Sah-son back in school has made my taxes look more reasonable. Now to get something to eat and log in to irk. ---

For the record, the nanner bread is yummerrific!! Once the two loaves cool, they’ll be wrapped for the freezer. I think I can do the sketty sauce now. The pellet stove is cleaned and fired up again, and the house is closed - still too chilly to leave it open for long, it seems, but we did get some fresh air. Now, what to make for supper?? ---

Sinuses are less achy. I’m callin’ that a plus. Hopefully I will be amongst the functional tomorrow. OYKW is stayin’ at his place tonight cause he has an early mornin’ monitor to do which is closer to his place. Just as well cause I’m still sinus blurfy. I shall sleep with Ben tonight. ---

The person who I was _supposed_ to run with this morning cxl’d; apparently it was a rockin’ Bar/Bat Mitzvah that she attended last night & a bit too much consumption of alcohol to make it up & out early. Given the forecast was a high of 62°F, I decided to wait for the afternoon. I went on a trail that I knew of but have never been on before. I wore shorts, t-shirt, & gloves, which is a good idea when trail running. Toughest. Trail. I’ve ever run! Mostly ran on my feet, but there was one section where my kester ended up on the ground when my feet slipped out from under me on the rock/boulder. Even though I didn’t need them for temperature, I was _very_ glad (& my hands were, too) that I wore the gloves for protection. My time was about ⅓ slower/mile than yesterday’s trail run. This one had rock, lots of rock, some needing to be climbed, some of them 5-10 yards long. (Hint, you walk over them rather than run due to footing issues). As the trail runs along the hillside, there were also almost a dozen streams, trickles, &/or mud pits that needed to be forded each way (but no fjords to be pined for!) as the water ran down the hill to the large creek at the bottom. Given it was the first nice day of the year, & a weekend to boot, there were lots of people on it, & many with dogs, most of which were off leash. A park violation but otherwise a non-issue. I’m maybe a ¼ mile from the end when some couple is coming towards me with their French Bulldog running around off leash. It’s off to one side but just as I get close to it, it darts across to the other side of the trail. I’m pissed but I don’t say anything, I’m tired, I’m fried, I’m thirsty & I just wanna finish. I pass them, then I hear, “Don’t be a dick!” WTF? I keep running but (mainly on instinct) blurt out, “F - you, leash your dog like you’re supposed to.” Then I hear, “Fuck you, you faggot, come back & make something of it!” Really? You wanna fight me because your illegally unleashed little punt of a dog ran in front of me & I didn’t even say anything about it??? 😕 :dubious: :smack: Stopped at the bar I went to yesterday to try the other beer that looked good. (Sorry, I won’t mess with DUI; even getting pulled over costs around $8-10,000 between fees, fines, & insurance surcharges. That’s if you _don’t_ get in an accident & end up like [Marco Muzzo](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=780292)). There were two people standing in the parking lot when I walked in; I thought they were smokers out for a puff since that’s not legal inside when the guy walks up to me & tries to hand me his card; he’s running for [del]criminal[/del] state treasurer. I decline but someone inside had taken it; apparently on the back he’s asking for donations. Really? The best way to fund your campaign is to stand outside some random bar on a Sunday afternoon? :smack: I inform the guy at the bar that outside of Williamsport, PA (home of the Little League World Series) is [Reptile Land](http://reptiland.com/); however, directly across the street is [Allenwood](https://www.bop.gov/locations/institutions/alf/), where a(n un)surprisingly large percentage of former elected officials reside & that if you want to see the _ **real** _ reptiles, don’t turn into Clyde Peeling’s but turn _away_ from it! 😉 ---

Supper was, um, unique. \*\*FCD \*\*had the ribs I found in the freezer, I had some leftover Polish sausage, our veggie was green beans, and the starch was nanner bread. yeah, we’re gourmands… 😃 Nothing but lazy for the rest of the night. ---

I love Reptileland and we make it a yearly stop these days. The whole time I was younger, driving back and forth past the place, Beloved Brother and I would always start the “we want to go to Reptileland” chant. We didn’t really – it was just a running gag in our family. When I finally got there a few years ago I was sad and glad at the same time. It was an amazing scientific and zoological exhibition but -------- I was really hoping for serious 1960s tacky. ---
