Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, purtified, brekkied, and caffeinated so no _YAWN_ ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out and drizzly with a predicted high of 77 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse beginnin’ around mid-afternoon, tonight, and tomorrow. We shall see. I shall head out shortly to visit participants in my newly acquired three counties which are east and northeast of here. Rah. I shall start at the easternmost place, work my way up through the other two and then head on back to da cave for the remainder of the day. I figure by the time I do all that, there will be about an hour and a half of irktime left in the day and I can input copious case notes from here just as well as the orifice so why not. Plus, gloom and doom may be approachin’ by then. **Nettie** YAY! Hope all goes well. **Sunny** appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the job transfer. **CupCakes** it’s Lent, the perfect time to be on a diet and grumpy. 😃 **Pearl** yay from gettin’ to hear more from ya! **Rockin’** I say you deserve a day to recoop. In general I need proteins in the morning. Today’s breakfast was a chocolate mousse-thingee and a kiwi yoghurt, because I haz a cold and it’s making my tummy cranky. When I joined the Química factory, my coworkers figured I must be from out of town, as they didn’t know me. It’s in the town where I grew up, but the two years I’d been back after college and grad school had been spent taking care of Dad, I hadn’t had a life at all. I didn’t bother correct them. There were a couple that I’d known since we were kids but they hadn’t recognized me. They’re both younger than me, enough that the memory of me just fell into that big sack of “people taller than I am”. Nowadays they’re both taller than me. Then the Maintenance Manager offered me his condolences on Dad’s death (that guy is one of the people who had faith in my ability to get an Engineering degree when my parents didn’t, and he actually took the time to tell me he did - coming from an engineer, it was much appreciated). You should have seen the look in my trainer’s face… I don’t think I’ve ever seen a man look so much like a pointer who’s spotted prey. As soon as he could drop me back in the lab he did, and headed for Maintenance at sonic-boom speeds to ask what the heck did the Manager know me from. ---

Still dripping water from the sky, with promises of thunder-boomers and the occasional tornado warning planned for this evening. getting cooler, too, from near 70F on Saturday to the 50’s today and heading for the 40’s. Oh joy. Heading into irk on a 4-lane highway this AM (I vary my routes because, hey, no use getting to deep into a rut) with a 5th center lane for left turns, some guy overshot and ended up with his car about 40% in my oncoming lane…it does get the blood flowing to see headlights facing you where there shouldn’t be any. Blurf. Double-blurf, in fact. Hell, let’s go for double-dog blurf. I didn’t sleep well last night, and now I’m reeling from it. I’m taking today off to get some rest and if need be, I’ve got my friend Trazodone to help out when it’s time to go to bed. In happier news, the sprog’s Quiz Bowl team made the finals! He’s done a super job with it this year, and it’s paying off. So he’ll compete today, and for the championship weekend after next. He also got a 98 on his social studies test. I’m so proud. I’m gonna wander off for coffee and food. Then I’ll see about sleep. ---

Up. Got a Dr appt at 1030. I hate to go to the doctor but I have a sinus thing going on and I need my pills refilled. I may or may not go go irk afterwards depending how long I have to wait to see the Dr. And I’ll have to drop off my prescriptions. I need to go to irk but I’m not too keen on driving an hour for just a few hours. ---

I did not have that margarita last night. The past few night’s bouts of insomnia caught up to me and I crashed hard. Yay for sleep! Unfortunately, I woke up way too early and started fretting about some work things. Blah! Youngest son has a band concert tonight. He took up a second instrument this semester and this is the first time we’ll see him perform with it. ---

Breakfast was soft-boiled eggs with toast and a pear. And coffee. I need to go shopping at some point because I’m out of coffee and the only thing I have to lighten it is heavy cream. ---
