The first _Straight Dope_ column appeared thirty years ago today. (Technically an anniversary rather than a birthday, but it does mark the birth of Uncle Cecil’s ever-expanding fight against ignorance). ---

Most of the people that I’ve met in my life who were born in February were born on February 21. It’s sort of eerie. ---
