I liked some of the early episodes, and it had some _great_ dialogue (Flynn’s frustrated exchanges with John Wilkes Booth was one of my favorite TV moments of the year). But stories built around a big grand conspiracy leave me ice cold. Particularly annoying in the Watergate episode…what, Richard effin’ Nixon isn’t shady enough on his own? I really think this would’ve worked better as a Mr. Peabody-style wacky time-hopping adventure of the week. If you can’t get a decent story about modern-day Americans being thrust into the Seven Years War or the space race without a bunch of conspiracy jiggabaheezah, you deserve to get canned. ---

Frequency, Time After Time and Making History are the other new time travel themed shows, all of which were cancelled. ---

Like **E-DUB** , I thought it had done okay ratings-wise, so I was surprised to learn after the season finale that its renewal was on shaky ground. I’m glad to see that it’s getting a second season after all. ---

And these are in the midst of existing time travel shows like _Legends of Tomorrow_, _12 Monkeys_, _Doctor Who_, and arguably _The Flash_. It’s been quite the trend, for some reason, but probably won’t continue into the next couple of years, even after this last minute reprieve. I am happy, though. It was a well made show, with nice ambiguity in the bad guys, and real consequences to their shenanigans. ---

I love “Travelers” and I am very excited for the next season. Of all the new time travel shows the past season it was my favorite. “Timeless” was also good. “Time after Time” had an ok premise but my god the writing was bad (in my view). ---
