I found this thread trying to search my own situation. Karl’s theory/hypothesis sounds like it’s on the right track. I have fibro and arthritis and spent many years waitressing and lifting other heavy things I apparently shouldn’t have. Anyhoo… I recently developed synovitis/trigger finger in my right hand (I suspect there is a knuckle injury involved as well but that is another story) . About a week after my trigger finger diagnosis, I injured/strained a muscle in my neck while riding in a gyrosphere. Now, every time I unconsciously sigh, I get a shock type pain to those 4 fingers (not thumb) in the same hand I have trigger finger in. As I mentioned already, I have arthritis and have dealt with cervical radiculitis (sp) among other fun issues. In doing some research, one therapist on line mentioned pain in hands as a result of poor posture… slumping forward, yada yada… YES I have poor posture these days! So I pulled my shoulders back, sat up straight, sighed and voila! No pain…
When this thread was started(2010) we quite often allowed specific real-life medical questions in General Questions. Moving this one to IMHO, where we prefer these to go.

I get this too, suffer from Anxiety, highly perceptive, incredibly over thinking all the time good and bad or just in general, OCD is bad again after years of on and offs. I am persistently angry, stressing, sighing, heavy breathing, angry, drinking, smoking yeah i’m just a typical case of anxiety/serial killer in the making lol
But on a serious note. Common sense is a good suggestion as in seeing a doctor trained in the field who specialises in said fields? Suffering with it’s also an option considering most DR’s are totally stupid and useless and nothing gets done except take these pills, do this, try that but we won’t actually do anything practically decent to assit just drug you up send you home. If I wanted drugs i’d become a dealer/user or just buy more alcohol
MS is a cause for this I used to convince myself I had MS (until I had the wonderfully horrid tests) Severe Aggorophobia, social Anxiety, Anxiety and lots of bloody PTSD and Anxiety. I’m always battling Anxiety on and off (not so much panic attacks per say)
The chances are this very and it is uncomfortable and always feels warm and tingly when it happens for a breif few seconds like it’s moving somewhat from the wrists down bit like the feeling of a dead foot/leg but for lesser time sounds 100% like an Anxiety disorder, as all knows you can suffer Anxiety without having full blown panic attacks or hyperventalating. Somehting called Limited Sympton Attacks LSA for short which I suffer from most part via physical Anxiety symptoms normally consisting of (Globas sensation/Tightness of that area too swallowing issues that resolve in the same day but can last hours and all the norm physical Anxiety issues but without me actually having a dellibirating panic attack. Kind of weird to try and explain. I also know when they’re coming I get a hard swallow and tight throat or feel like times slowed then it comes either once or in bouts that can last for days or more. Other ideas that hit me, Diabetes, Some form of nerve strain/stress in the wrists, arms hands or shoulders from posture (especially being bent double or excessive PC use which is something i’m guilty of daily 24/7 on and off, Carpel Tunnel Syndrome though doubtful but people have had it without pain or at least Tenderitis. Posture and Anxiety of some form make the top candidates in my mind as I have had this before now when first had panic attacks daily. My Anxiety has been higher recently i’m always huffing and puffing and angry the house down. I also wonder Dehydration may be a simple cause with a simple fix (the ammount of times I have felt dreadful for days without getting my finger on it then suddenly my brain makes me go on an addictive water binge drink and I find i’m dehydrated and wasn’t even aware of this.
I have this problem. I agree that it has something to do with restricted blood flow and CO2. I do t like it. It’s a little scary!
I have felt this, but it was nothing I ever worried about. It just happens. Like the tip of my nose itching when I brush my teeth. Or the momentary loss of hearing during a big yawn.
