For a mere $1000 a month, you could live in [62 square feet](http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/object/article?f=/gate/archive/2005/05/25/dip.DTL&o=10) in London. Makes downtown San Francisco seem affordable or at least spacious. ---

From that picture, I’d say they wasted way more of the 62 square feet on the kitchen than I would’ve. I saw a news report the other night about skyrocketing real estate costs in some areas of the US. At one point a realtor was showing the reporter a 822 square foot (iirc) apartment in Manhattan that was selling for $1,000,000! ---
