# Tips for off-campus housing?

I’m wrapping up my first year at university, and here I’m thinking that next year, living off-campus sounds like a Plan.
I’m in a small town, in which nothing is more than ten minutes by car, so distance isn’t really a problem. I don’t have any roommates I want to move in with, so I can be more flexible in looking for rooms/space.
So, what should I know before starting my housing search?

Check with your University to see if they have an off-campus housing department. My University rates the various landlords, has a housing search and will assist you in whatever comes up in the course of renting. Outside of that I’d say read your lease very, very, very carefully.
