Any chance that “they” have known the sub’s position very nearly since jump – it’s just that it’s been that hard to get a capable rescue vessel and/or technique assembled? As in: If this same exact thing had happened in 2,000 ft depths, the sub would already have been recovered. ---

The US Coast Guard confirms the banging. 30 min intervals wouldn’t be natural sounds.
