I was driving round with a friend of mine on “the morning” (it’s yesterday for me now) and she asked me "is this a _special_ birthday? I had no idea what she meant until about an hour later when I twigged what she really meant was “forty yet?”. Except a bit more polite than that. Not quite. 39. ---
