I, too, am not on the boards as regularly as I used to be and am just finding this now. Back in the day, I would often get involved in quite a few heated debates around here, often centered around religion. I always found Polycarp to be a well-reasoned gentleman in times when others would have resorted to ugliness and petty bickering. I always valued his knowledge and even temperment on these boards. Polycarp was the closest thing to a friend that I made through the SDMB. He kept in contact with me after I entered seminary and continued to engage in intelligent dialogue, gently challenging me to keep thinking.
