I think I speak for many of us when I say my reaction when I saw this thread was, “What? Not Polycarp!” He was a great poster, and he will indeed be missed. My condolences to his family and friends for their (and our) loss. ---

I am very sorry for your loss and my thoughts are with your family. I always admired **Polycarp** and respected him very much; even though our opinions greatly differed a lot of the time, he was never anything but kind and enjoyable to deal with. ---

Please accept my heartfelt condolences, Mrs Poly, for you and your family. **Polycarp** was a wonderful man and a truly gentle poster who always expressed his thoughts clearly, sometimes with passion, often with humour, occasionally with righteous outrage, but always with compassion.
