# To drink or not to drink the milk... This is a fairly simple poll. In fact, it’s the easiest one possible. One of two choices. Do you drink the milk from the bowl after finishing your cereal? Or do you finish the cereal and toss the remaining milk down the drain? This is a discussion hat has turned into an argument between my wife and I. The outcome at stake is what my child will do once cereal eating is part of the breakfast regiment. I will not divulge which side I fall on the argument until a significant number of answers are received. But I WILL not lie if it turns out I am on the wrong side of this. I will take my abuse, if the poll comes out to show my wife to be in the right. Which it won’t. ---

Lactose intolerant so I wouldn’t eat the cereal with milk to start with, but to me it seems to be about the same as do you drink the broth when you finish the noodles and the answer is yes. ---

I only put enough milk on my cereal so that there is none left over when the cereal is gone. ---

except for the occasional chocolate milk, out of the bowl is the only time i drink milk ---

I don’t eat cereal much anymore and I’m not a fan of drinking milk per se ( i.e. out of a glass as a normal beverage\* ). But when I was a kid, the sugared up milk at the bottom of the bowl was a treat not to be missed. But I am _assuming_ that you are going to allow your kid a ladle a tablespoon or two of sugar onto his grapenuts to properly season that milk :D. ETA: \* Well, unless I’m in a bar or a fancy restaurant. Then it’s my beverage of choice ;). ---

My SO seems to think his cereal has to swim freely in liquid…think two Cheerios per cup of milk - and I have never quite figured out the reason for this. He then tosses out the leftover milk. ---

I try really hard to make sure there is exactly the right amount of milk on my cereal so there is none left. If there is a bit left it goes to the cat. ---

Related question: When all the cereal box is empty and there’s nothing left buy powdery crumbs in the bottom of the box, do you eat that or toss it? I got into a big argument with two roommates once over that. (I and one roommate tended to throw it away but were not strongly tied to that outcome, and didn’t see it as a big deal one way or the other. The other roommate vehemently insisted that it should be eaten. So the actual debate was: Why such a big deal?) ---

Yeah, I don’t eat my cereal swimming in milk. Usually the milk is gone while there is still a little cereal left in the bowl. ---

That throws off the sugar to milk ratio for when you chug the left over milk. ---
