Conservatives don’t understand economics. They think cutting taxes raises revenue. For instance, any conservative that understood economics would support universal healthcare. ---

I don’t think rich conservatives would necessarily support universal healthcare, as it would mean more taxes and less political power\*. But I do think a lot of working class conservatives would support it if they could understand the collective and even the individual benefits. \*Never forget the fact that higher taxes and redistribution of income is also a loss of power for plutocrats, and that is why they object to tax increases. It’s not the loss of wealth by itself- who needs money to enjoy life when you’ve got enough money to last 100 lifetimes without working a day in any of them? No, it’s about how the money can be used, by whom, for whom, and for what purposes. ---

They love any kind of universal mandate were they get to write the rules, but will hate any type of single payer setup. A broken health care system is a great way to funnel money from the bottom 80% to the top 1%. ---

I also thought he would win, primarily because of my pessimism. I thought that since Biden winning would be a good thing, it could not possibly happen. Especially in this year. ---

It’s simple really. It’s not a deal breaker. They want to be just likeTrump and never be held accountable for anything. Paying off hookers with others peoples money? Cool.
