Within the past few days or weeks, the notion of _ **geezing** _ has come into focus – as if it hadn’t before. 🙂 In a nutshell, _ **geezing** _ is what _ **geezers** _ do and it’s either _ **to geez** _ or _ **to geeze** _ but it’s definitely not _**to Jeez(e)**_ as in the nickname for you-know-who. This thread is to explore the concept and its ramifications. If needed, I can supply numbers and links and whatnot to earlier discussions of the matter of _ **aging** _ and its offshoots. But this is just **For Your Opinion** of what’s worth talking about as it relates to you and your age group(s). How long can this thread go before we start choosing sides? 😃 ---

I think this is going to spread like wildfire. In the past few days, I’ve seen an explosion of **Get off my lawn**. That Sun Tzu quote is nasty, I love it. To confuse matters, Geezer is also **A shade more geez(e)**. It’s good to belong. 🙂 ---

That parade will look like the Monty Python 100 yard dash for people with no sense of direction. Past tense should be **geezed** , a la wheezed (a related term). We need to elect officers, or did we do that already? GET OFF MY LAWN! ---

Just as an experiment I looked up the word **geezer** in my _Tenth Edition Webster’s Collegiate (2000)_ and found the same approximate wording as [this online version](http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/geezer) > [@](#): > > a queer, odd, or eccentric person —used especially of elderly men with the same alleged origin > [@](#): > > probably alteration of Scots guiser one in disguise > First Known Use: 1884 ---
