Does anyone else think that, just as a general rule, **Klaatu** and **Death Ray** should be kept as far apart as possible? I won’t lie–it’s pretty gratifying that folks are coming in and saying nice things about me, and I appreciate it. But that’s not the reason I posted this thread: the OP was completely honest about my reasons. Check out **Unclebeer’s** link from before. I’ve used this method before, to good effect: after I posted that thread, **Shodan** stopped that particular hijink, when nothing else I’d tried had worked. If this thread can accomplish the same thing without pages of vitriol, then excellent. If, however, I keep getting sniped at by the club, then I’ll keep posting links to this thread and responding to them here. Daniel ---

You can be a good poster, sometimes, and sometimes you can be a big fat hypocrite. Calling you on it is hardly a hijack. Didn’t you misinterpret what someone said in the linked thread? I dunno, I’m kinda with **King of Soup** here–I admittedly don’t recall too much animosity between **LHoD** and his “fan club” in threads that I’ve read, and it really seems in that last one (which I did read, and posted only to drop a drive-by insult on **Dex** :P) that his defensiveness was what started the whole thing, not any pile-on of pre-existing hatreds. The persons whom you’re pitting obviously (to me) have no interest in participating. Given that, the longer you keep this thing alive, the more it begins to look like your using this for self-validation. I almost never agree with what you have to say, Daniel, but you positions are generally pretty well thought out and supportable. This thread, however, not so much, especially since, as I just said, you’re the one keeping it alive. ---

At first, I thought that the “fan club” thing was supposed to be sarcastic. But now it’s looking like it’s in fact genuine and maybe this should be moved to Mundane Pointless stuff, where the actual fan club can continue snuggling you.
