Anyway, I’m just going to agree with approximately 95% of the posters here: Humor is not inappropriate for a serious discussion. Certain types of humor might be inappropriate for certain discussions (i.e. - “dead baby” jokes in a thread about someone’s child who recently died), but there are few situations that can’t be improved with a little levity. And I’d also like to see an example of a well-written, well-constructed, well-argued OP in Great Debates that was subsequently derailed and made unreadable by joking hijacks. Pretty please. With sugar on top. ---
