To back up to the OP, one of my core beliefs is that a cornerstone of class is being tactfully silent about who doesn’t have class, that a standard of manners is to simply ignore the bad manners of others (who are not children in your care). There is no moral capital in indignation. None. ---

I think what Moss needs, to be honest, is a prophetess akin to the Oracle at Delphi. He bends and wipes his ass on the goalpost, and then his actions are interpreted to determine whether the harvest will be bountiful this year, or if the gods have cursed us to a famine. The Afros, as well, are a sign — but what does it mean? Loose, carefree playing style? 70s-esque passing attack? The firstborn calves dying? ---

Yep, been to a few games and worked at them on and off for about 8 years now. They aren’t half as bad as UW students, believe me. I guess they’re even now. I hope he feels better. He wants to be an asshole, fine, be an asshole. He’s suceeding admirably. It won’t make me think any less of him. ---

I just wanted to emphasize or rather clarify what I meant about the Packer’s “owning the nineties”. Certainly they didn’t win every superbowl, but every single season except for, I think one or two, they were in definite contention and Favre was in his absolute unstoppable prime. For a few seasons, he deserved the constant blow jobs from Madden. But the last couple of seasons the announcers have been grasping at straws, still insisting that he’s at the top of his game when clearly he’s not. It makes no…fucking…sense. i’m not an idiot bear fan who will say Favre is a sucky quarterback, never have. And the Pack is a good team, (even though at home they get EXTRAORDINARY ref treatment…calls like I’ve never seen)…but on Sunday they sucked. Favre sucked, and it’s nice to finally see the untouchable man that everyone in Green Bay wants their son to grow up to be fall and show his weakness (weaknesses those of us not blinded by him have seen for years). NFC North in GENERAL sucked this year. Embarrassing all around ---

Yeah, **jarbaby,** , I think you’re forgetting how dominant those Dallas teams were. And San Francisco didn’t suck either. I remember most of the 90’s as being about whether the Cowboys or the 'Niners would be the ones to bitchslap the AFC (usually the Bills) in the Superbowl. ---

The officiating crews for the postseason are selected based on their regular season performace, and umps that routinely blow calls or demonstrably show bias towards a particular team are graded poorly and do not referee games in January. Not only is there a few extra weekends of cash for those crews, but also the prestige of being some of the best zebras on the field. You can be sure that any team that feels slighted by a bad call will send tapes to the NFL for review.
