What a relief that Insaney is back at school. Tell me he doesn’t have to share classes with the idiot who did this to him?? ---

The idiot was expelled fairly soon after the incident. Apparantly, he’d been making more trouble, and teachers had complained, and so he was swiftly expelled from school ---

I would very much like to have a working crystal ball, so we could look ahead, oh, say five years, and see where these two young men are then. I’m betting, **Angua** , that your brother will have overcome whatever residual damage the attack caused, and gone on to a stellar academic performance; he’ll be well on his way to achieving a fulfilling, honors-laden career in his chosen field, surrounded by friends who admire his character as much as his intelligence. The attacker? A charitable wish: he learns from this, comprehends the ugly wrongness of what he did, and lives down the shame of his attack, though the guilt of it never leaves him. More likely: he goes on lashing out, and being bailed out by mother, until her best efforts can’t save him from prison. She may even find him turning on her.
