When terrorists attacked our country on September 11, you were as horrified as we were. Even though most of you weren’t any more directly affected than I was, you understood that the people hurt, the people killed, were innocents. Even when you disagree with the decisions our government makes, you realized that it wasn’t our government that was attacked.

I cried when I saw the pictures of people from other countries lighting candles, laying flowers and flying their flags half-mast. You recognized a country grieving and you grieved with us. You didn’t grandstand; you didn’t shake you heads and blame the US for being what it is. You just held our hand and stayed silently at our side.

Thank you.

You’re very welcome throatshot. No, we don’t always agree with your government, but this was an attack on the whole free world.

I’m proud to tell you, our Prime Minister Kok has said: We are 100% behind the Americans. We’ll help in any way we can.

So I hope it will be more than just holding hands.

Together we might be able to stop terrorism.

In the mean time; I’m still thinking of all those victims and their families.

Wishing you strenght and wisdom through these times.

At least the bad movie cliches thread moved above the celebrity pee thread. What a great world we live in. 🙂
