To those who think breaking should not be in the Olympics: Chillax. Or shove off

That would be an interesting theory, but is somewhat weakened by the fact that curling is most popular in Canada, where lawn bowls and snooker are not popular spectator events.

Honestly, it’s a GREAT TV Sport. Better than in person, because TV offers the perfect overhead angle.

Break dancing is a terrific TV event too. It’s a very small area and easy for a camera to cover, you only have to watch one person, and it’s an amazing physical skill to witness as long as the competitor isn’t doing the kangaroo hop and the Curly Shuffle.

Dog agility should be in the olympics. Awesome sport to watch and participate in.

Someone told me videos of the performance have been ‘scrubbed from the Internet’. We didn’t watch the break dancing, and now it seems we can’t what all the hubbub is about. It must have been pretty bad if the videos are not available.

This might suffice.

If the videos of her performance were removed from YouTube or elsewhere that might be because the content is copyrighted and belongs to the IOC or NBC or both.

Yeah, but all of them are hella-goofy.

Here’s something still up on, as far as I can tell, NBC.

It’s nice to know there’s at least one Olympic-caliber performance even I am capable of achieving.

Well, I’m sure I could compete in almost any Olympic discipline and get zero points.

She got zero points, but she still managed to compete without injuring herself. I would certainly injure myself if I tried to compete in breaking, along with at least half the other summer sports (diving, pole vault, hurdles, javelin, hammer throw, kayak…).

And I think I’d injure myself in 100% of the winter sports. I’m sure I’d even manage to hurt myself in curling.

I am pretty sure you could throw a javelin without hurting yourself. Physically, anyway. They aren’t boomerangs.

Yeah, but the rest of you better take cover.

Oh, you of little faith.

Parker Kennedy, 17, was making practice throws at a USA track and field event at Jesuit High School in Portland, Oregon when he tripped over his cleats and fell forward.

The javelin punctured his right eye socket and became lodged into his head.

More realistically, I’d probably injure my back or shoulder with poor technique.
