I’d say it depends how often you get unwanted spam post bumps to old topics, versus natural conversational bumps to old topics. The ratio of spam and pointless newbie bumps is probably at least 100 to one. Still, I have seen significant new information posted in our General Questions forum after 10 years at least. We also have a few long-standing threads that are bumped annually.
