Yep, that would work. We’ve had a boatload of rain in MN this weekend for which all farmers and gardeners are heartily grateful for. Boy, have we needed the rain. I’m hoping a lot soaked into the thirsty soil. ---

I bet that was a cool sight. I must report that our falcon camera stopped working around noon yesterday (possibly thunderstorm related). I can only assume that the young’uns have successfully fledged. They were very close to doing so when the camera stopped. ---

Yesterday I explored the Patuxent wildlife refuge. The northern section is pretty heavily forested, but there some cleared area around the visitor center where they have nectar feeders and plantings for hummingbirds, and place is full of them. It was marvelous! Unfortunately, they aren’t easy to photograph. I love pelicans and got to see some of the white ones at Nags Head this past December. I could watch those squadrons flying over the water all day long. ---

It might get a little ugly during a drought, but a bit of rain and it is all green again. I was walking around our horse pasture yesterday afternoon, and a deer startled me. Kayaker, I was thinking about how that is usually the case. I was wondering if these were suffering from fertilizer burn due to the lack of rain. I guess I’ll find out. I drive by most every day. ---
