Thanks all. (sniff) I appreciate your good wishes.
**GOM** – it turned out to be coincidence that my sobriety birthday is the winter solstice! (And also coincidence that I quit smoking on the vernal equinox, though that, alas, was only 4 yearsago). I was teaching at the time, and wanted to finish the semester, so I went into treatment [28 days, in-patient, AA-based] over Christmas break.
**scott evil** – yes, I’ve been aware that you’ve beome another friend of Bill’s – and I’m following your adventures with great interest. You take care of yourself, kiddo.

Congratulations! 12-1/2 years here. My sober birthday is the day after the anniversary of the founding of AA (June 10, 1935 for those playing along at home). I dig it. Keep on doing it, one day at a time!
