“O Bother, where art thou?” –Winnie-the-Pooh plays hide and seek with Quakers. It bothered me that the Disnified version of the classic Winnie-the-Pooh characters didn’t look like E. H. Shepard’s original drawings, until I saw the stuffed animals they were based on, which Shepard’s illustrations don’t strongly resemble, either. > **[Tigger Lover | Yes! And IMHO, the 2011 movie was a welcome return to the spirit of those 60s-70s films. ---

I bought ‘original Pooh’ crib sheet/crib bumpers/baby blanket for my daughter decades ago, and read her the stories when she got older. The Pooh and Piglet hunting the Hefferlump made her laugh harder than before or after any other storytime 😄 . We still love Pooh. (not the dumbed-down Disney abominations). ---

I went to see a Winnie the Pooh movie years ago. It was a double feature with The Ugly Dachshund which was released in 1966. I remember the movie was shown in Waco, Texas. We were there for a few days for other matters. The only other thing I remember about the trip was visiting a relative who had a little dog with an odd affliction. The dog would look around and see us drinking cokes and so she would take a drink of it from a doggie bowl and didn’t like it at all. But after watching everyone else for a minute, she would try again. They said that the dog never did learn to trust its own sense of taste.
