Todd Bertuzzi: Coward, Punk, Criminal, NHL Star

There’s no worse insult to a Sens fan then to be called a Leaf fan.

This will certainly cut down on those final-minute fiascos but it hardly addresses the root of the problem which is that fighting is allowed at all. There was a time in my mis-spent youth when I loved nothing better than watching Domi and Probert duke it out but, over the years, I’ve become increasingly intolerant of these sideshows. They interrupt the flow of the game and, in the worst cases, things get out of control and people get hurt. A ban on fighting is long overdue.

Heh. Every fucking year they say they’re going to crack down on obstruction penalties and every fucking year they don’t.

No accounting for taste, I guess (Laffs fan & proud of it).

My NHL knowledge is outpaced by a lot of posters here, but Bertuzzi is not a thug or an enforcer. As somebody else said. I don’t think an enforcer would have done what he did, intentional or not.

That’s Miss, thank you.

Team affilition regardless, you’re an ass for assuming you know what every Canucks fan is thinking, and insulting them all in one petulant post.

I dismiss people who think they’re omniscient and preach absurd, insulting generalities.

You’re essentially correct. Bertuzzi is not an enforcer. He was for a while with the Islanders and Canucks, but the Canucks traded someone (I think Brashear) and Bertuzzi morphed into just about the best pure power forward in the game. He still has a short fuse though.

Bertuzzi has a track record of one incident. Marchment has what 5 or 6 cheapshots under his belt. It is almost like he doesn’t know how to hit except knee to knee.

And didn’t Darcy Tucker do a knee to knee with Michael Peca during the playoffs a couple of years ago? I may be remembering that wrong, but I’m very sure a Leaf took out Peca at the knee.

It was a clip, not a knee-on-knee, but it was an ugly hit.

Surely you jest. This was Bertuzzi’s third serious suspension in the NHL, and in the OHL he served a suspension for kicking, the ultimate punk penalty.
