# Todd Snider has died

I was supposed to see Todd Snider last night, but the show was cancelled. I can’t quite figure out what really happened, but my interpretation is he got assaulted in Salt Lake City, enough to go to the hospital. He was to be released and he fought that enough to be arrested. And then he died of pneumonia. Lots of missing info, but I’m sad. The music I play with others right now is amplified and not Todd, but my non-band life is all acoustic Travis-picking stuff. I will be crying while playing his songs. So sad.

I saw him a couple of times with Hard Working Americans. I never met him but we have friends in common. The man has been battling demons for many years and this was a surprise to none of them. Very very sad.

That whole album was great, but song was a big hit for me.

I saw this on NPR’s website. What I got from that, as released by his family, was that he got pneumonia, but it might not have been (only) the pneumonia that killed him. As you say, lots of missing information.

I like his music, saw him a few times, met him after a show years ago. Didn’t know he was having a rough time lately. Really too bad. I’d like some of the details filled in, too. What’s the deal with this assault??

He ain’t never goin back to Tillamook County. ☹
