I’m anti-death penalty in any and all situations. Yep, even the post-war hangings of the Nazi high command.

Murdering scum they may be but a full life sentence in these circumstances seems perfectly reasonable rather than state-sponsored execution.

Yes, and Japanese prisons are not pleasant. More for punnishment/repentance than rehabilitation.

Sadly, prison can’t hold the most powerful. This French criminal [Redoine Faid escapes French prison on hijacked helicopter](https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/750279002) and the Mexican drug lord So Chapo are but two examples.
