I’m old school, though: Liza’s still _my_ favorite celebrity trainwreck.

Katie Holmes a shitty actor? Seriously? I’ve only seen her in three films, admittedly, and they were all serious movies (not fluff summer blockbusters) but I thought she was quite good in each of them. I’m surprised someone would say that.

Keanu? I’ve never heard that - what’s the evidence? Anyway, he could date me, but he’d have to keep his mouth shut - scratch that, but he’d have to be quiet - cause the spell would break as soon as he said something stupid. 🙂

What’s the actual evidence that Tom Cruise is gay? I know he filed a lawsuit to defend his heterosexuality, which naturally makes everyone think the lady doth protest too much, but is there more reason than that to suggest that he’s gay?

I think any male actor in Scientology is suspected, as one thing Scientology promises to do is “cure the gay.” Rumor has it that once you’ve confessed to their readers all your Big Gay Secrets, they also keep you there through blackmail—though Tom Cruise seems creepily sincere about Scientology.

For what it’s worth, the late Ed Margulies of _Movieline_ knew Tom and told me he was indeed straight.

She got a little too cringeworthy for me with the Gest marriage. (Did you ever see the wedding photo? I’m still having nightmares…_brrrr_)

Speaking of celebrity trainwrecks- Britney Spears is shaping up to be a hot mess with her Chaotic reality show. But she doesn’t have as far to fall as Tom.

She’s fun, but when the person is out-and-out acting crazy in public like her or Ann Heche, it’s a little less interesting than a case like Tom Cruise. Because it’s so clear that he’s off his rocker, and yet he’s managed to barely cling to the cliff of public acceptance for years and years. It offers the excitement of thinking, every time he does something else bizarre, “Is the train going to crash _this_ time?”

Then how do you explain John Trav…

Oh yeah… never mind.
_This_ freaks me out- Dr. Cruise’s comments on medicine and the body from the Brooke Shields link above:

> [@Tom Cruise](#):
>
> These drugs are dangerous. I have actually helped people come off," Cruise maintains to Bush. “When you talk about postpartum, you can take people today, women, and what you do is you use vitamins. There is a hormonal thing that is going on, scientifically, you can prove that. But when you talk about emotional, chemical imbalances in people, there is no science behind that. You can use vitamins to help a woman through those things.”

Hmm. No such thing as chemical imbalances. I guess that manic-depressives just need to get right with L Ron and schizophrenics are all just needing some Vitamin D and sassafras tea.

I wonder how much his latest movie will suck based on his performance now.
Seems the more crazy or in love or in your face to promote it ( especially promoting Never Been Seen Before Boobies Of Your Favorite Actress!!111!!) the more the movie seems to tank.

Which is the only reason to watch [The Gift](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0219699/)…a naked Katie Holmes.

When there aren’t any cameras around (either fan or paparazzi), he is freakish in how he has be be heavily shrouded from view wherever he moves around on the studio lot. He’s so adamant that he not be seen by anyone that he had the construction crew at Paramount, build a partition along a walkway between his office and the soundstage for his exclusive use. Problem was, they put it up on “legs,” so it had a gap between the bottom and the ground, and his feet could therefore be seen by passers-by. Given that he apparently wears rather thick platform shoes due to his short stature, he claims to have heard snickers, and got furious and made them cover the gap at the bottom so even his feet can’t been seen.

I don’t watch Oprah, but I’m sorry I missed that one. I would have liked to see Mr. Cruise embarass himself a bit. He seems like Mr. Nice Guy, maybe he is, but there have been times that the camera was on him at an awards show and he looked really pissed (American pissed, not English pissed). I find it amusing that so many people associated with him - Kidman, Zelwegger, Cuba Gooding, Jamie Foxx - have their Oscars already. I bet that eats at him more than he would admit.

And yes, he is a funny little monkey.

That post partum comment was just sickening- I hope it gets more publicity. Maybe it’s a good thing he has no natural children. He’s the kind of husband who keeps knocking up his emotionally disturbed wife until she snaps and drowns them all- “If only she’d taken vitamins, I tell you! Vitamins!” Ugh.

She is the very definition of the word sheepish (other than, uh, a sheep). The girl’s got a serious palsy, toneless voice and a permanent shrug.

Honestly, I loved her in _Pieces of April_, _Wonder Boys_, and an admittedly small role in _The Ice Storm_. I really thought she was excellent in all of them - though I admit she was cast in fairly similar roles in those movies.

Those pictures from the Oprah television show make Tom Cruise look like a complete lunatic. He was quite different the only time I’ve ever seen him, in a restaurant in North Sydney, where he was having dinner with Nicole and her parents. On that occasion nobody was taking much notice of him and he just looked like any normal bloke out with his wife and in-laws.

</div>

FWIW, I bartended Cruise’s 40th birthday party (a very private affair – not counting us caterers) and the one thing that stuck out (besides Kelly Preston making a stink about something that apparently had to do with her husband, who stayed for about 2 minutes) was Penelope Cruz making a very sincere and heartfelt expression of true love for Tom over the P.A.: tears and everything. (Tom did not seem to reciprocate in such an affectionate manner.) It brings two matters to mind:

1. Hard to imagine Cruz feeling so much for a gay guy, but I’ve heard stuff from decent sources that he’s at least tested the waters;
2. Be kinda interesting when Holmes – whom I’ve met very briefly one time but struck me as a very down-to-earth – turns the tables and dumps Cruise.

Of the 21 Cruise movies I’ve seen (haven’t seen Collateral), I give thumbs up to 14 of them. And I think he’s engaging and a joy to watch in many of them (e.g. Rain Man, 4th of July, Color of Money, A Few Good Men, Vanilla Sky).

It’s Oprah that I can’t stand. Talk about a member of a cult (her own).
