I’m not very far into those videos. From what I’ve seen, they seem less scary and more pathetic. There’s this bit about Tom Cruise running a “detox” center for victims of the 9/11 dust cloud. Seeing something like this, it seems less like they could bring in educated people, or take over society somehow. I not a big fan of the whole psychiatric drug industry either, but they’re just taking news stories on the subject and then acting like they were behind them. ---

Scientology reminds me of the 2nd installment of the Planet of the Apes films. The one where somehow over time those creepy humans were actually worshipping that nuclear missile. Yeah…sorta like that… ---

[/QUOTE] Well, even if we’re talking Crowley and Scientology, there is a massive and significant difference between Thelema and Scientology. Thelema’s ‘prime directive’, if you will, is “Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.” Notice, of course, the use of “thou” instead of “I”. Hubbard’s penny ante mind control bullshit has nothing to do with Will, and everything to do with control. ---

I live on the same street as the Scientology Celebrity Center in Hollywood, where Tom Cruise spends so much time, and I pass by it every day on the way to the gym. It’s a really swanky place, with heavy duty security, and just about every Sunday some kind of “event” (i.e., money-raiser). Just a few blocks away, on Hollywood and Sunset Blvds., you see the minions of Scientology around their various buildings: people who have to wear silly uniforms and go around in packs doing manual labor (probably in order to pay for their e-meter sessions). It’s really sad. When I had more time on my hand, I’d spend a Sunday afternoon going to the various Scientology places on Hollywood Blvd. and act really interested in LRH. Then, after they thought I was hooked, I’d say, “Really, I’m here because I want to know more about L. Ron Hubbard’s work in black magic and satanism.” When they protested, I’d quote from Crowley, and [what happened in Pasadena](http://www.rickross.com/reference/scientology/scien523.html). It was good for a few kicks, but they’re such automatons it stopped really being that much fun. I think the only way to stop them is to start an alternate cult that is fun, free, and not repressive. Then launch campaigns to lure away the current Scientologists and have one big party. ---

They don’t need to. In a few weeks, Scientology will still be there and the kiddies will have got bored and moved on, as kiddies do. Meanwhile, what will happen to the cult is what always happens to cults that are under attack: they draw closer and become stronger through having an enemy. ---

Sure, but they will do _something_ (doesn’t matter what) and then when the kiddies get bored and go away the Scientology svengalis will announce to their gullible minions that whatever action Fair Play took was fully successful due to their Unstoppable Scientology Mind Powers and all their silly dupes will ooh and aah and hand over more money.
