I like how in Oblivion there is a brief scene where we see Tom Cruise running on a big hamster wheel. ---

Oblivion also has a moment where both he and his cline are running at the same time. It is very funny when you consider this thread. ---

In Cocktail, he runs on the beach to help Elisabeth Shue’s friend who passed out from drinking too much champagne. Oddly enough, after running, he then suggests someone else run to a phone to call an ambulance. God I hate Tom Cruise. ---

Surely in **Valkyrie** he runs at some point. What about at the beginning when the planes attack and he loses his eye? ---

I got a chance to see **Top Gun** last week, and believe it or not, Tom does not run in this movie… I don’t think you can count a quick burst on the sand volleyball court where he takes a step. That’s the closest he came as far as I saw, unless there was a part edited out. And a slight hijack, but **Top Gun** has not aged well AT ALL. This is a movie I loved when it came out. I loved the flight sequences. Those sequences must have deleted the rest of the movie from my brain, because watching the movie as an adult was really tough. The flying sequences were still very good, but the rest of the movie isn’t even average. It is flat-out bad. The “love interest” for Cruise was Kelly McGillis, and together on screen, they had the sexual energy of two people who just got divorced. The heat generated between them was probably close to that of a single firefly in a mason jar. The acting was stilted, there was no real story to speak of, and every cliche you can come up with was a part of the “plot”. I always heard how “homoerotic” this movie was, but since I’m not gay, I never had an opinion. However, after the strange beach volleyball sequence, I could see how this movie got the tag (that, and the numerous scenes in the shower room where all the pilots hang out in just their tighty whities and a towel draped over their shoulder. And to be honest, i think there was more sexual energy between Maverick and Goose than Cruise and McGillis. Anyway, no running in **Top Gun**. Unless, like I said, someone has a copy and they have a scene in their copy that was deleted from the TV version I saw, which is possible. For those of you thinking of taking a trip down memory lane and putting this movie in your Netflix queue, don’t. You will thank me if you happen to bump into the movie by accident. ---

I kept thinking it was supposed be like _ **Ben Hur** _ where Massala and Judah Ben Hur were having their bad breakup when i saw Tom and Val onscreen. Except Top Gun has the “happy” ending that _ **Ben Hur** _ lacks The strange part about the film is that Cruise and McGillis were in the film just when his gay rumors were heating up and hers were not quite out of the the “closet” so to speak. I bet that set was a tense and an uncomfortable place. Anyhow, Tom Cruise does not run in _ **Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures** _ as he’s the narrator. Nor does he run in his cameo in _ **Austin Powers in Goldmember** _ ---

I don’t think he runs in _Tropic Thunder_. ETA: I was really hoping the thread would be about an impending Tom Cruise remake of the Al Pacino movie. ---

There are “sex scenes” between the two of them that are painful to watch, including this weird silhouetted scene where they are kissing, and their mouths are so wide open I swear their jaws are dislocated. And you see light. And tongue.
