What has Tom Cruse done or said to make lots of people say that he’s gay, and that his marrage to Nichol Kiddman(sp) is a sham? Just curious. ---

He is a scientologist. They are all gay 🙂 Seriously, I have no idea. I have not heard that rumour before myself. ---

Part of it came from rumors surrounding the filming of "[_Eyes Wide Shut_](http://mrshowbiz.go.com/archive/news/Todays_Stories/970415/4_15_97_4tomcruise.html). Later, when the film was released, it was discovered that the term “drag” was in reference to the film’s plot, not its star. ---

Likely no more than any other person or entity with that suffers from unfounded rumors. People tend to love gossip and will latch onto the flimsiest of evidence. Proctor & Gamble’s man in the moon logo was twisted into rumors of satanism. The mere question you ask about Mr. Cruise will cause some folks to spread rumors even more. “Is he gay?” “He _is_ gay?” “No, I didn’t say he’s gay, I asked if the rumors were true.” “Well they can’t all be wrong, he must be…” ---

Actually, the Tom-is-gay rumours started in the 1980s, after he starred in the biggest metaphorical film about closeted gays, _Top Gun_[su\*[sup]. His first wife, Mimi Rogers, was rumoured to be his beard at the time. Now, it’s Nicole Kidman. I would let people think I was gay if I was married to her. _sigh_ [sup]\*[/sup] Check out Quentin Tarantino’s hysterical rant/cameo in the forgettable _Sleep with Me_ for more information. ---

Im pretty sure that in “Eyes Wide Shut” he was wearing a ‘package’ a fake dick & balls. Because no guy looks like that in underpants. I think thats the right flick. ---

I heard that the rumor started from something his former wife, Mimi Rogers, remarked on why she was divorcing him. ‘He’s practicing to be a monk. We’re not catholics.’ I loved the line, and have used it about my own ‘marital’ relationship. It’s hard to believe that someone would continue a ‘sham’ this long and not be found out, somewhere along the line by the constant camera lenses they have to deal with. ---

Rock Hudson James Dean Montgomery Clift –and those are just the confirmed ones off the top of my head. What about the absolute undeniable _given_ that a dispropotionate number of actors in Hollywood are gay, with probably no more than 6 out of the closet? ---

Look, Anti (“Cake and Eat It”) Pro: Your argument against Tom Cruise’s being gay is that someone would have found out by now if he was. I point out that no one “found out” about Hudson, Clift, or Dean until after they had died. You respond that they _had_ been found out because there were always rumors about them. So let me get this straight ( 🆒 ): Tom Cruise isn’t gay because there’s nothing but rumors, but Hudson et al _were_ gay because there were rumors. Thanks for clearing _that_ up. ---

I think alot of these gay rumors are because people are jealous, so they try to bring him down in others’ eyes. Like people say Ricky Martin is gay/bi, any member of the Backstreet Boys/98\*/Nsync/etc are gay, and so on, just because they’re getting more action than everyone else. That’s my theory. ---

Go to the hotel where they stay and tip the concierge $20. You’ll find out pretty much anything you want. These stars aren’t nearly as smoothe as you think. We had one “singer” stay in our hotel. The idiot had Asian girls the whole time come up to his room about every 30 minutes. He was “auditioning” women for his small part in a music vid. If Tom Cruise said “I’m gay” his movie career would pretty much be over. That’s where it ends. When he dies, those of us alive, will find out whether he is or isn’t gay. But then it’s too late. I find it rather offensive that a gay man would hide behind a mask to make a buck. Can you imagine if a black actor only would play “White” roles what an uproar his community would have. Or a “Jew” only playing “Chrisitan” roles? ---

Tom Cruise studied to be a monk, and he and Nicole have two adopted children. I’ve heard rumours that he practices celibacy or chastity or whatever. In short, he’s a virgin. The “Forbidden Hollywood” song “Who’s Gay in Hollywood” contains the marvelous line “Tom Cruise would never cruise West Hollywood,” along with “No, no one here is queer, just go ask Richard Gere.” ---
