Although I think the lion’s share does go to BC, in all fairness, I did see that some of my favorite posters (DtC, Mangetout, Liberal - ie, Libertarian, Lord Ashtar, etc, etc) were still posting.
Had no one any clue as to who Badchad was talking about, I might not have signed back up.
Liberal, you SO need to find another outfit to handle your archiving needs. The folks at self-aggrandizingjackassdotcom appear to have absconded with your storage fees, and memory dumped your best work. I’m guessing they sold their server on ebay, and portions of it are one day going to come leaking their way out through the blog of some whiney emo kid with an outsized assessment of his own data storage requirements.
Eh, they’re decent reasons, but I certainly don’t find them hugely compelling anymore and I wouldn’t expect anyone to find them convincing. I’ve actually read a lot more philosophy since then and I think there are better developed reasons/argumentation.
In fact, I think there is a certain reasonableness to both sides of the theological debate - a concession I’m not sure BC would share with me. Theists can be reasonable and they can come up with some good argumentation. I still do disagree with them, ultimately, on those reasons.
Then you don’t know what “trolling” means. Trolling is throwing out general antagonism in hopes of getting a response from anyone. I’ve simply demonstrated that with a bit of mockery and a dash of Socratic irony, I can get you specifically frustrated and spewing obscenities. It was so easy an accomplishment, in fact, I can’t even view it of any real value. I’m mildly hoping others will follow the example because I think you have a compulsion to answer any seemingly-sincere query out of fear that not answering will give the other person a “last-word” advantage. Thus, you’re helpless in the face of Socratic irony and can only fall back on personal attack and your “Christ is a cunt” standby. All the users have to do is ask you a few simple questions about your beliefs, gradually introducing a mocking tone, and the thread will be far more entertaining as we watch you dance.
Wiki says you’re right, Miller, unless What Exit were making a reference to the SDMB disassociating with militant Basque separatists, a sentiment with which I’d agree
I was going to start a thread about that but I found it on Acronym Finder. It annoys me because ETA has been Estimated Time of Arrival my whole life. It was probably the first acronym I ever learned.
This might be worse than when FTW went from Fuck The World to For The Win.
