I think if he specifically targeted and stalked a pair of well known Republican Posters he would have been Banned already. Let’s use **Bricker ** and **Shodan ** as an example. If he continually harassed them, bothered them in non-political threads and pulled all the crap he pulled on Polycarp, would he still be around?

I don’t think a ban is necessary if not violating board rules…frankly, I don’t know why people just don’t ignore him.
I’ve not been part of any of these discussions, but really badchad , why the open hostility to people of faith on these boards? If you have an argument, make it, but there is no reason to escalate it to personal attacks.

Badchad is just back from suspension. As such, he should be on a very short leash. In this circumstance, I fail to see why another suspension should even be considered. If he persists in ignoring moderator warnings, or steps the slightest bit out of line, he should be gone without the any further consideration. I’m with those wondering why he hasn’t been Banned already.

And do you honestly think you are effectively moderating when he hijacks a thread as blatantly as he did the first linked one just to snark on you again and you feebly warn him, “better stop or you’ll get a time-out”? Tom, you know I greatly respect you, but it appears as if his hard-on for you has left you so concerned that your actions not be perceived as personally motivated, that you have allowed yourself to be rendered completely ineffective where he is concerned. In other words and to be blunt, if you don’t have the balls to ban someone who so obviously richly deserves it, please punt the matter over to the disinterested third-party mod and allow them to wield the ax. I think a review of his first posts in the linked threads, coupled with the fact that he’d just back from suspension, ought to be more than enough to do it.

Tom is turning the other cheek, but it’s just a matter of time before other mods refuse to turn theirs. It will probably be one them rather than tom pulling the trigger. Tolerance is an underestimated trait, and Tom has that in spades. We need many more Toms in this world than badchads, regardless of who believes (or does not believe) what.
Colibri and Jodi, my statement was not intended to indicate a course of protracted actions. I simply went through the normal list of actions in order. You are correct that, having recently returned from a month-long suspension for having admitted to trolling Polycarp, a single Warning would probably be sufficient to get him Banned. Aside from his general lack of value to the board, is there a specific post or set of posts that would have garnered anyone else a Warning? If so, report them and if the Mods agree, he will be gone.
In my (general) defense against several previous comments: I cannot ban anyone. It takes the actions of multiple Moderators and a minimum of one Administrator to ban anyone other than a spammer or sock.
badchad’s actions in the GD thread do not bode well for a lengthy stay, but when I address him in a thread, I see no reason to lower myself to his level of calumny.

tomndebb is a good mod. Level headed, articulate, takes great pains to be fair. Only complaint I have is sometimes he’s a little slow to pull the trigger.
baddchad, on the other hand, is a thoroughly unpleasant person. Brings nothing to the table other than 6th grade level shock value, and has no interest in debating anything…he just wants to smear his own poop on the cyberwalls on the Dope.
I vote we keep Tom, and punt badchad.
