We should be so lucky. If Scalia were a politician, he’d have to tailor his actions to public opinion.
Personally, I think originalism would be better termed as legal revelationism because that’s the way it seems to work. Scalia seems to believe that he’s following the original meaning of the constitution - but he also believes that he’s the only person who knows what that original meaning is.
