Tonight, "The Phantom of the Opera" becomes the longest run show in Broadway history

Wow, you’re right. I never thought I’s say that.

I remembered the music being so powerful and moving, so I just pulled out my 1987 CD set with Crawford and Brightman and listened to the main theme, and… wow.

Cheesy.

I don’t seem to recall all those… synthesizers. And those drums… did that come out of a Casio?

Somebody tell me they updated the score a bit in all these years!

I saw it again two years ago and the performance I saw (touring production) was awful. Talk about a third rate cast … and I regret to inform June, but the score was not updated at all. The drums sounded even worse when I was there. I could program better sounding drums in Fruity Loops.

Still has a couple of decent songs, though.

Out from their defences protesting the new fences
With Hamas to insist their cousins fight
Can you trust the Abu Mazen knight?

OUTSTANDING!

I’ve seen POTO four times on stage, plus the movie. We go to Vegas annually for a convention and I’m looking forward to seeing it there.
