DAmmit, I am going to stop reading tonsolith threads. Every time I read one, the next morning I have one that just makes itself known horribly [the back of my throat on the sode the lith is on itches like some horrible brat has sprinkled it with itching powder=(] and I have to rinse, manipulate hawk and spit until I get rid of it… No more opening tonsilith threads for this little black duck!!! ---

Tonsil stone stories 1. I was first introduced to them by my eccentric high school friend, Bridget. She wore them with pride and insisted I take a look. I couldn’t have been more horrified if she’d shown me a second rectum in her throat (which, as we know, she sort of did). 2. I got them myself a few years later after recovering from strep throat. At which point I was glad that I’d been introduced to the concept beforehand, much the same way I was glad I’d been warned about periods before the fact. Every child should be told this can happen, IMO. 3. In their heyday mine ITCHED like a bastard. I went to an ENT who suggested they be taken out, not because of my concern - the itch - but because, as he put it, “you’ll never get married if you don’t have them taken out.” (No, not a crusty country doctor - a crusty Harvard professor). 4. I didn’t have the surgery because my hypochondria was also raging at the time and I was pretty sure my heart would give out on the table. When I returned 10 years later in the hope of finally getting the damn things removed I was discouraged from surgery BY THE SAME DOCTOR who told me it was unnecessary (apparently either insurance would no longer pay for it or I was no longer marriagable). 5. The ENT turned out to be right. I’m still single. Go go Harvard. ---

In related news, **Tomcat** snorts saltwater 4 times a day now… I have a bad head cold…sucky bad. But that nasal rinsing is cool! _SnorrrrTTT!!!_, choke, spit, drain and blow. Repeat on other side. I can feel it penetrate my upper sinuses…kewl. The only problem is that I drip for 15 minutes afterwards. But I feel tons better after I do it. -Tcat ---
