well his son/manager did …but this depresses me > **[Tony Bennett retires from performing on ‘doctor’s orders,’ cancels upcoming...](https://news.yahoo.com/tony-bennett-retires-performing-doctor-173300834.html)** > > “We’re not worried about him being able to sing," said his son and longtime manager Danny Bennett. "We are worried, from a physical stand point… about human nature. Tony’s 95.” ---

Tony’s reason for living is his work. It’s what motivates him to stay active. I read about seniors that keep working. The 90 year old Walmart greeter or the 80 year old volunteers at the hospitals. I see them pushing wheelchair patients to Xray or for lab tests and then back to the clinic. Tony’s had a good run. He’s stayed current in music. Recording with Amy Winehouse and Lady Gaga. I’ll miss him. ---

I don’t care whether he stops now or sings till he’s 200. Either way, he’s one of my favorite singers. ---

I feel like we’ll be reading about his death soon. I hope not, for sure. ---

This one gets me every time. “Waltz for Debby,” written by (and in this recording, accompanied by) the great Bill Evans: [![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/qySyhuTXCh4/maxresdefault.jpg "Waltz For Debby from 'The Tony Bennett/Bill Evans Album'") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qySyhuTXCh4) ---
