I’m diabetic, and antibiotics will raise my blood sugar, too. If I’m gonna raise my blood sugar, I want it to either be because it’s necessary, or because I really, really enjoyed whatever it was I ate. I don’t want to risk raising my blood sugar on a chance that I’ve got an infection, and I don’t want to run the risk of developing another allergy unless I’m sure that I need those antibiotics. If you get good results from your method, I’m happy for you. But for me, the risks are not worth it. Oh, and insert the usual scolding about not finishing up antibiotics. ---

No tattoos on my cats. They were chipped before we got them. I kind of liked trying to read the old, smudged ink bled numbers on my old cats. ---

I splurged and bought the $8 Sally Hansen nail polish for some nail art. Despite using two layers of base coat, only the nails with the Sally Hansen on it stained. Meh. Appropriately, the stained nails are on my middle fingers. ---

I have to get all 4 impacted wisdom teeth out tomorrow and I’m totally terrified. Not really of the surgery, since everyone I’ve talked to said that you blink and it’s done (IV sedation), which might be kind of cool. But the aftermath. My brother was wasted and throwing up blood every 5 minutes for 2 hours and basically lay on the couch for four days feeling sick. NOT FUN. ---

My sister’s kids are here to visit Grandma and Aunt Anya, and 45 minutes after they got here they lost the TV remote ,and were begging for some facepainting kit that showed a commercial the minute i walked into the room to check on them. I have no IDEA what the hell happened to the remote and spent another 45 minutes looking for it. I wanted spinach on my pizza Sunday but the pizza place was out of spinach. ---

At this point my brother was WAY worse off. I feel pretty much fine, just a little tired. I was expecting to be loopy, too, and instead I feel reasonably alert and coherent; I was making sense and answering questions normally on the ride home. So that fear was unfounded. We’ll see how the pain is when the local wears off. ---

Today’s rant: every slow person in this city was in front of me this morning. So. Homicidal. Right. Now. Leftover rant from the weekend: a very hearty “fuck you” to everyone who leaves their cars idling at the (crowded, esp. on the weekends) Dallas farmer’s market, so I have to feel the heat of your radiator right against my legs when it’s already eleventy billion degrees outside, while you sit in your air-conditioned bubble. Your car is half an inch away from me when it’s this crowded. Fuck you. Double-fuck-you if you’re in an oversized SUV, because you’re probably also the douche on their cell phone oblivious to me and other traffic as you erratically meander along. Man, between all that, and [our IT issues at work](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=14034456&postcount=1679), and some other stuff, I am one crankypants this morning. 10:30 am, and already I’m thinking “Today can eat a giant bowl of dick. Also, our entire IT dept. is hereby cordially invited to fuck itself sideways with a rusty chainsaw.” Cranky, cranky, cranky. I can’t decide what I need: a drink, a day off, or a nap. (Correct answer: D. all of the above.) All the best, **chizzuk**. When I had mine out (all 4 @ once) I couldn’t eat much beyond mashed potatoes, yogurt, baby food, etc. for a while and so what I remember most about it all was being So. Very. **Fucking. _HUNGRY_**! I would have chewed off my own arm if my teeth and jaw would have cooperated, I was so protein-starved. Also, discovered that vicodin a) does little for pain for me, and b) makes me nauseous. That was fun. ---

I had mine out and took nothing more than tylenol afterward - it was a complete non-issue. ---

Two suggestions - be very careful eating, drinking, or smoking so that you don’t lose any of your clots (a dry socket is about 10 times as painful as a normally-healing socket), and take it easy for longer than you think you need to. I went to a wedding the day after I had a difficult wisdom tooth removal, and just about passed out there. ---

I pit this thread title for being misleading. In no way should “Not Hot Enough” appear right now. Too hot. And my x-rays today showed nothing conclusive on my foot/ankle, so now I have to get an MRI. Stupid foot and ankle… ---

Yeah, so far I’ve just had Gatorade out of a wide-mouth bottle. Non-smoker anyway, and I’ll be having some (cooled) tomato soup in a bit. I have read warnings to take it easy even if you feel OK, so I’ve walked around inside the house a little but spent most of the time lying down with my head up and will keep doing so for awhile. I’m actually a little concerned that I’m in no pain whatsoever. I did take 800mg Advil and 1000mg Extra Strength Tylenol, so that could be what’s doing the trick, but it’s been 6 hours and my lower lip and chin are still totally numb and my tongue is funny, too. Either the Novocaine is wearing off really slowly or I have paresthesia. Edit: Oh, and I’m icing religiously. Bags of frozen peas really do not smell all that great. ---

I simply refuse to acknowledge the possibility that it’s not hot enough anywhere. It would be like me pitting Rush Hour Traffic or Pixies Flying Above the Freeways in the Middle of the Night. Sure, it’s technically possible that they’re out there, but it’s realistically not something I can fathom at this time. ---
