This is TMI, but… I think I’m constipated. Yes. Constipated. It’s making my abdomen, lower back and legs ache. I’ve been eating like crap the past few days and now I’m paying the price. The five pounds I’ve gained thanks to all the sodium really aren’t helping, either. I’m chugging water to help move things along and it’s working, but I also now have to get up to pee every 5 minutes. Which I guess is ok because I’m also forcing my ass out of my chair to walk around every once in a while. I hate this. I know better, but the junk tasted so good. But not this good. Dammit. That was completely not worth it. My penance on the treadmill isn’t going to be pleasant this evening. Stupid lack of willpower. Carrying around both kids at the same time this morning probably didn’t help anything. Combined they weigh about 80 pounds. It’s all fun and games until mommy throws her back out and/or has to take a poop. Fuck. ---

It was so damp out I could not see the house across the street. I am anxiously waiting for November. ---

The drive there (through Kansas) included a solid half-day with temps over 100. At least it was dry. The last cool days I remember were in late June in Pittsburgh. ---

That usually does the trick really nicely. **Shot From Guns** , I just wanted to thank you for giving the temps in Celsius as well as Fahrenheit. I printed out a list of both temps and posted it by my computer, but I appreciate that. 🙂 We might actually get up to 30 today! (86ºF) It’s even humid here - it feels very weird. It’s never humid here. I went for a long walk as usual - the sun was behind a cloud but I still felt hot. Freak show. And yes, I’m having a big glass of water. ---

It always drives me nuts when people give a temperature in Celsius and I have to go dig up an online converter to get it in Fahrenheit so I can figure out what it feels like, so I assume the same must be true in reverse for people whose native unit is Celsius. 😃 Mmmmmmmmn big glasses of water. ---

We are looking at four days of of 86 to 90 degress, with the Humidex putting it up to anywhere between 96 and 109 (note to my countrymen: 30-32 C, humidex of 36 to 43 C). Whereever it’s not hot or humid enough, I _need to be there_. ---

Theater: Dark, @ 68 degrees. Parking Lot: 100 degrees, dewpoint 77. Heat Index something like 112. Bright sun. I felt like a vampire stepping into the sunlight and heat. Man, that was harsh. The car was worse. ---

Can someone please explain to me why it is that, when I google the phrase “Evidence for Global Warming” the very first hit is for the _fucking institute for creation research?!?!?_ How did that happen? To be honest, we can’t complain if the skeptics win this argument. They’re just so much more committed. ---

Pretty close, really. The exact method is multiply by 9, divide by 5 (in other words, multiply by 1.8), then add 32. So doubling will overshoot the 1.8, but adding only 30 will make up for it. And that’s good enough for ballparking.
