Too-mild-for-the-Pit rant about men’s denim jeans.

I wear jeans consistently on weekends and my Levis (standard fit) last a very long time without issues (unless you count gradual fraying at the leg bottoms after a couple of years as an issue).

Another good thing is that the right size is almost always available in stores, whereas for other pants they seem to mainly stock sizes appropriate for men who are 6’2" or taller and weigh 150 pounds or less.

I will join the chorus of Duluth fans.
I’m also a big guy and tall. Every stitch of clothing on my body is from Duluth today except for the shoes and that’s just because I switched out my Jackpines for most support from the Brooks runners.

Ask if you have any issue, their warranty is super easy. If you are near a store they will just hand you a replacement or give you credit or cash back.

I forgot to say basically this same thing. I’ve had zero problems with 501s. I have a pair I’ve worn to the office for a few years that look like new. A “work” pair (meaning lots of home improvement, remodeling, and yard work) lasts a couple years.

The best pair of jeans I’ve bought in the last decade were Cinch, picked up in a random ag supply store in Gregory, South Dakota. Great fit, great fabric, held up very nicely until I snagged the leg on a screw sticking out of the rails on my back deck. In fact… I need to check the selection at the Farmer’s Co-Op here, and get a few more pairs.

I have 501s with holes in the knee after about two dozen wearings. YMMV.

It’s actually capitalism, not clothing, that’s the problem here.

OK, out of curiousity I looked on Amazon and found that I last ordered jeans one year ago. I purchased three pairs of Wrangler Rugged Wear jeans. I’ve worn them every day, other than a wedding. The first week I destroyed one pair horseback riding when I rode too close to a fence post that snagged my leg and ripped the jeans. I threw them out after one wearing.

The other two pair I wear daily, laundering every 3-5 days. The two pair are a bit faded, and the bottom-rear legs are starting to fray. When these are too bad to wear, I think I’ll order Wrangler Rugged Wear jeans again.
