Ah, seems I have a light. So I won’t curse the darkness, but instead i’ll use my lamp to illuminate the way. And I wish to stand behind the cleric because **Auto** ’s setup just seems foolish to me as the Cleric seems the best suited for the Undead sorta things we may find and should be towards the front of the party… But I won’t complain. I’ll just make sure I’m behind the cleric and “helping” to light his way. ---

[Ahem.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=12351702&postcount=38) The steps head more or less straight down into darkness, illuminated by the flickering orange-red glow of your torches. They were made quite wide - perhaps to allow the passage of a funeral cortege carrying a coffin - and if you need to you can easily go two abreast here. Walls are lined with masonry, still in good repair. After descending perhaps to cellar depth the stairs give way to a flagstoned floor and soon there is a junction off to your right. Your eyes are adjusting gradually to the poor light after the brightness of the morning. ---

I’m the _other_ cleric and I’m usually near the front. Plus, I’ve already stated that I have my holy symbol out in case of an emergency, uh, funeral service or something. (I’m trying to pretend that there are no undead around. I can turn them, but they freak me out.) ---

Great, so my choices are the brave cleric up front who is afraid of the undead, or the one lost and who currently thinks that \*\*Auto \*\*being in the back is the front… hmmm… I like the idea of Advancing Backwards! I shall rejoin my Brave Pastafarian friend in the back! You can never have too many people protecting the rear! ---

Oh, I’ll be taking magic missile for today. I doubt any of my other spells will be too useful against what we are likely to ecounter in a crypt. And I’ll be taking my usual spot near the middle of the party formation. ---
