“Obviously a very drunk Ghost but I wouldn’t worry about it I think he’s headed back to town to mess up their gazibo. I hate to be the one always pointing these things out but there is a very usable passageway back there that we could always run down. I don’t know how many secret passages are designed with headlong fleeing in mind. Since we seem set on continuing let’s at least pretent to be safe and use one with an escape route. Heck we’re not even sure if these symbols are going to work especially if limp noodle over there isn’t wearing one.” ---

So you head back the way you originally came and take the other route. You find that it soon ends in a small chamber that seems to have been thoroughly turned over by thieving goblins or some such. There is, however, a writing-desk that is largely intact. ---

Well, Poe hasn’t written on this one. There is a drawer, which has been forced open and ransacked. However, you do find a piece of paper stuck to the inside of the drawer compartment.
